## Papers

The most cited first (OpenAlex and our library).

1. **[Adapting Sequence Models for Sentence Correction](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/schmaltz-2017-adapting-sequence-models-sentence-correction/)** *(2017 · 77 citations)* The paper examines how to make neural sequence-to-sequence models competitive for sentence correction, which is the task of rewriting a possibly erroneous sentence into a fixed version.
2. **[Similarity-Distance-Magnitude Activations](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/schmaltz-2026-similarity-distance-magnitude-activations/)** *(2026)* Language models often give highly confident wrong answers. Softmax-based uncertainty estimates also break down under covariate shift or on out-of-distribution inputs. This paper proposes the SDM (Similarity-Distance-Magnitude) activation as a drop-in replacement for softmax at the final layer.
