## Papers

1. **[Targeted Syntactic Evaluation for Grammatical Error Correction](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/koyama-2025-targeted-syntactic-evaluation-grammatical-error/)** *(2025)* Standard grammatical error correction (GEC) benchmarks are built from learner essays, so some grammar items are rare or missing and several errors in one sentence interact.
2. **[Joint English Spelling Error Correction and POS Tagging for Language Learners Writing](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/sakaguchi-2012-joint-english-spelling-error-correction/)** *(2012)* Spelling correction is usually a pipeline step before tagging, but it cannot fix learner errors that produce real words (homophones, confusions, split and merge errors, inflection and derivation errors such as "badly" for "bad"), and the tagger needs the context to choose the fix.
