4 paper cards in the Research library · 2011–2024

Sandra Kübler wrote 4 of the papers Mova reads, in 2011–2024, most of them on [Treebanks](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/topics/treebanks/), [Coreference resolution](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/topics/coreference-resolution/), [Dependency parsing](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/topics/dependency-parsing/); often with Anthony Meyer, Daniel Dakota, Desislava Zhekova.

## Papers

1. **[Out-of-Domain Dependency Parsing for Dialects of Arabic: A Case Study](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/aclbulk-2024-mokh-out-domain-dependency-parsing-dialects/)** *(2024)* No syntactically annotated treebank exists for Arabic dialects, so the parser is trained on the CATiB MSA treebank and tested on dialect sentences: a test set of 800 parallel sentences from MADAR (Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian and Maghrebi).
2. **[Annotating Coordination in the Penn Treebank](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/maier-2012-annotating-coordination-penn-treebank/)** *(2012)* Coordination matters for many NLP tasks, but large treebanks such as the Penn Treebank do not mark it explicitly: coordinated phrases carry ordinary labels and a comma between conjuncts has the same tag as any other comma, so conjunction-less coordination is nearly invisible.
3. **[Predicting Learner Levels for Online Exercises of Hebrew](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/aclbulk-2012-dickinson-predicting-learner-levels-online-exercises/)** *(2012)* The paper predicts the course level (100 to 300+) of university students of Hebrew from one placement-exam exercise: a scrambled sentence whose words must be put in order.
4. **[Singletons and Coreference Resolution Evaluation](https://md.research.elamur.ai/free/en/papers/kubler-2011-singletons-coreference-resolution-evaluation/)** *(2011)* The paper asks how singletons (mentions that are never coreferent with another mention) change coreference scores.
