## Summary
This document is not a research paper. It is a section of an annotated-style bibliography published in Canadian Jewish Studies 8 (2000), covering scholarship on Yiddish, Hebrew and other Jewish languages in Canada. It reports no experiments, data, models or metrics. It lists numbered references (1497–1512a) on Yiddish culture in Montreal and Canada. Topics include the activist H.M. Caiserman, Canadian Yiddish writing, Yiddish theatre in Montreal, Hebrew–Yiddish bilingual schooling as a utopian project, and language maintenance through the Ontario Heritage Language Program. The section closes with cross-references to other entries by number. The extract then starts the next section, Zionism (1513–1517), and is cut off mid-entry. Its value is as a finding aid: it maps where Canadian Jewish language and culture have been studied and in which languages. Those languages are English, French, Spanish and Yiddish. For the Elamur library it is a reference list rather than a methodological source.

## Key points
- The section on Jewish languages covers entries 1497–1512a. A follow-up "See also" line points to 18 further entry numbers (e.g., 97, 745a, 1393a, 1434).
- Montreal is the dominant focus, with recurring sources:
  - the edited volume *An Everyday Miracle, Yiddish Culture in Montreal* (Véhicule Press, 1990);
  - Jean-Marc Larrue's bilingual book on Yiddish theatre (1996), later reviewed by Belarie Zatzman (1998).
- Entries are multilingual. One is in Spanish (Leo Davids, 1989), several are in French, and some are tagged "[Yiddish]" (e.g., Ch. L. Fox, 1980; Simon Belkin, 1956).
- Several entries record republication, either as a translation (Anctil's French version, 1997) or as a reprint in another volume (Davids' 1984 article reprinted in 1993).
- The Zionism section, cross-linked to Israel and Middle East Politics, begins at entry 1513 and is truncated in the extract.

## Interesting ideas
- The bibliography uses a dash "—" to mean "same author as the previous entry," a compact form of reference that only resolves through context.
- Entries mark a single work appearing in several venues, languages or translations with "Also in," keeping one record with multiple manifestations.
- Cross-references by entry number ("See also: …") and section-level pointers ("See also Israel; Middle East Politics") form an explicit link graph on top of a flat list.
- Language tags in brackets ("[Yiddish]") flag the language of a source without translating its title.

## For Mova

How these ideas could serve Mova, our small open language model — its files, stages and tests:

- **I1** (frames): This is a clean test case for coreference with an implicit antecedent, where an elided subject must be resolved to the nearest preceding named entity.
- **I2** (world): Our entity layer could model a work separately from its editions or translations, so that facts about one version can be attached without duplicating the entity.
- **I3** (world): Such pointer lists could be imported as typed edges into the knowledge graph, giving explainable "related to" links instead of similarity guesses.
- **I4** (tokens): The tokenizer could treat bracketed metadata tags as a distinct token class, so that they are not parsed as part of the surrounding title phrase.
